U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the ongoing trade negotiations with various countries, stating, "Countries that could not express gratitude to the United States are now thankful to the U.S.," and noted, "We are achieving results."
On the 12th (local time), President Trump said in an interview with Fox News, "We (the United States) are working busily and brilliantly," adding, "Countries are eager to negotiate with us."
He emphasized, "They did not show gratitude even though they used Korea from trade and military perspectives, but now they are thankful."
President Trump also stated, "I resolved the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) issue," pointing out, "They did not spend even 2% (of GDP) on defense, but now they are spending 5%," mentioning that NATO member countries agreed to significantly increase defense expenditures by 2035.
The interview took place as part of the current affairs program "My View with Lara Trump," hosted by Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump.
Lara Trump, the wife of President Trump's second son Eric, served as co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) last year, contributing to her father-in-law's presidential victory.
Recently, after Senator Tom Tillis, who voted against President Trump’s massive tax cut bill (OBBBA), decided not to run for re-election in November, Lara was mentioned as a potential candidate for that seat.
Earlier, on the 1st, President Trump said, "My daughter-in-law would be a truly excellent fit for the Senate seat."
