The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, paid a visit to North Korea and met with Kim Jong Un on the 12th.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement via Telegram that "Minister Lavrov received a welcome from Chairperson Kim Jong Un," along with a photo of Kim and Minister Lavrov holding hands. Additionally, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared a video showing Chairperson Kim referring to Minister Lavrov as "a close friend" and embracing him. This meeting appears to have taken place in Wonsan, Gangwon Province.
Minister Lavrov visited North Korea on the 11th through Wonsan Airport upon the invitation of Choi Sun Hee, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Korea. He is expected to continue his visit until the 13th after concluding the "second strategic dialogue" meeting with Minister Choi.
