Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has once again sold a large amount of stock.
On the 8th (local time), Bloomberg reported, citing documents submitted to U.S. financial authorities, that Bezos disposed of about 3 million shares of Amazon over the course of two days this month.
The sale amounted to $665.8 million (about 913 billion won).
Earlier, Bezos stated he plans to sell a total of 25 million shares by May next year. This sale also followed the selling plan announced earlier this year.
At the end of last month, Bezos sold Amazon stock worth $736.7 million. Having stepped down as Amazon's chief executive officer (CEO) in 2021, Bezos still holds more than 900 million shares of Amazon, valued at about $200 billion (approximately 275 trillion won) based on market capitalization.
This stock disposal was carried out shortly after Bezos's extravagant wedding. Last month, he held a lavish wedding worth $50 million with Lauren Sanchez in Venice, Italy.
The wedding was attended by numerous celebrities, including Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, the Kardashian family, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Bezos is still the largest shareholder of Amazon and serves as the chairman of the board.
