U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a document containing reciprocal tariffs for 12 countries, foreign media reported. The documents are set to be sent out on the 7th (local time).
According to Reuters, President Trump revealed this information to reporters aboard Air Force One on the 4th, which is the U.S. Independence Day.
The Associated Press reported that President Trump said, "I have signed a few letters and those letters are scheduled to be sent out on Monday (the 7th), and there will probably be 12 (letters)."
However, President Trump did not mention specifically which countries the letters would be sent to, nor did he discuss the specific tariff rates.
The reciprocal tariff grace period set by the Trump administration is expected to expire on the 8th.
Previously, President Trump stated that tariffs could range from 10% to 20%, possibly escalating to 60% to 70% for the countries involved starting from the 4th. He also mentioned that the imposition of tariffs would likely occur on August 1.
