U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the 4th (local time) that he will send a tariff letter to 10 to 12 countries.
On the 3rd, during an online broadcast from Andrews Air Force Base, President Trump responded to a question about which countries would receive the tariff notification letter first by saying, "Tomorrow (the 4th) will likely involve 10 to 12 countries."
He stated regarding the tariff rates for each country, "The range will be from 10 to 20% to 60 to 70%," noting that the finalization of the letter is currently in progress.
He firmly established the deadline for the reciprocal tariff exemption, which expires on the 8th. President Trump answered "No" when asked if the deadline could be applied flexibly to some countries, stating, "They will start paying tariffs from August 1."
