Amid ongoing controversy over President Joe Biden's cognitive decline, it has been claimed that the person who effectively ran the White House was First Lady Jill Biden.
Lindi Lee, former fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and member of the National Finance Committee, said in an interview with Fox News on July 1 (local time), "Biden was nothing more than a puppet, and the White House was effectively run by Jill Biden and her key aides." He noted that Jill used her husband politically while being fully aware of the situation, saying, "That behavior was close to elder abuse."
Lee specifically identified Anthony Bernal, senior advisor to Jill Biden, as a key figure within the White House. He claimed, "Bernal took control of the White House as if he were a king, exercising more power in the East Wing, where the First Lady's office is located, than the president's staff."
The House Oversight Committee is currently investigating senior White House officials, including Bernal, regarding allegations of concealing information related to the Biden administration's cognitive functions. The committee issued a subpoena to Bernal demanding testimony on July 16, and he is reported to have initially indicated a willingness to appear but later refused after the White House stated it would waive executive privilege.
Lee claimed that Bruce Reed, deputy chief of staff, Steve Ricchetti, advisor, Anita Dunn, and Mike Donilon, senior advisors, led policy decisions on behalf of the president in the White House.
Neera Tanden, former domestic policy advisor in the Biden administration, testified recently at a House hearing regarding the use of the automatic signature machine "AutoPen." Lee stated, "President Biden even delegated the signing of major documents to his staff and was in a state where he could not perform his duties."
He claimed that among the factors behind President Biden's decision to run for re-election were the criminal risks associated with his son, Hunter Biden, and Jill Biden's political pride, stating, "The one who actually played the role of president on the campaign trail was Jill Biden."
Fox News stated that it requested a position from the Biden administration's staff regarding these allegations but did not receive an official response.
