U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 27th (local time), "If there is a conflict, I will resolve the conflict with North Korea."

On the same day, President Trump met with reporters in the Oval Office and, when asked, "Is it true that you sent a letter to Kim Jong Un, the North Korean Chairperson?" he replied, "I get along very well with him." However, President Trump did not clearly answer whether he sent a letter to the Chairperson.

Previously, the U.S. North Korea specialist media NK News reported that on the 11th, President Trump drafted a letter intended for Chairperson Kim to resume talks; however, North Korean diplomats active in the U.S. refused to accept it.

President Trump said, "I have maintained a good relationship with Kim Jong Un and have been getting along well. Let's see what happens," adding, "Someone calls this a potential conflict. I think we will resolve it." This remark came during an event in the Oval Office, where he invited the foreign ministers of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda. The two countries signed a peace treaty ending over 30 years of bloodshed through U.S. mediation.

President Trump's comments on North Korea on this day are interpreted as a willingness to resolve the ongoing conflict between North and South Korea since the armistice of the Korean War, similar to resolving conflicts in various countries around the world. Accordingly, attention is focused on whether President Trump will engage in improving relations with Chairperson Kim, potentially creating dialogue between the U.S. and North Korea to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue, as he did during his first term.

In addition, President Trump mentioned that the war between Israel and the Palestinian armed group Hamas in the Gaza Strip could be resolved within a week. He said, "I just spoke with relevant personnel," adding, "The situation in the Gaza Strip is terrible. I believe we will achieve a ceasefire by next week."

It seems President Trump has expressed confidence that, just as he mediated a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, he could also facilitate a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. President Trump stated, "I am probably talking about saving millions of lives, and that is more important than anything else," adding, "It is a tremendous achievement to work towards resolving the Gaza Strip issue."
