According to reports from state-run China Central Television (CCTV) and the Global Times on the 26th, heavy rain in the Longzhang County area of Guizhou Province has caused a major flood. Villages have been submerged, infrastructure has been severely damaged, traffic has been paralyzed, and communications have been cut off, leading to casualties. Reports state that as of 11 a.m. that day, a total of 6 people have died.

As prolonged heavy rain continued, the ground weakened, leading to the collapse of a highway passing through Sandu County in Guizhou Province that morning. With the consolidation bridges collapsing, vehicle traffic has been completely halted, causing severe congestion in the area. The Longzhang County government issued an emergency evacuation order for some urban areas.

By the afternoon of the previous day, a total of 80,000 people had evacuated from Guizhou Province. Videos circulating online showed muddy water flooding the region's largest shopping mall. The videos also captured scenes of parked vehicles being swept away by rainwater.

Rain has been pouring down in Guizhou Province since the 18th. The Korea Meteorological Administration has forecasted that from that day, for three days, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected to hit most inland areas, including the Sichuan Basin, Chongqing, northern and western Guizhou, and central Hunan, Hubei, Henan, and Shandong.
