U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the 24th (local time) that a ceasefire between Israel and Iran has gone into effect.
On that day, President Trump stated through his social media platform Truth Social, "The ceasefire is now in effect," adding, "Do not violate it."
Earlier the day before, President Trump posted on Truth Social announcing the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran. He explained that starting from midnight on the 24th in Eastern Time, Iran would first halt attacks for 12 hours, and then Israel would stop its attacks for 12 hours, which would lead to the ceasefire taking effect at that moment.
Even just before the ceasefire began, military clashes continued. According to Reuters, the Israeli military reported that Iran fired missiles at its territory on the 23rd, resulting in the deaths of three people.
