On the 23rd, the North Korean Foreign Ministry Spokesperson stated in a question-and-answer format with a reporter from the Korean Central News Agency, "We strongly condemn the U.S. attack on Iran, which seriously violates the United Nations Charter and other international legal norms that are based on the principles of respecting sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs, and violently infringes upon the territorial integrity and security interests of sovereign states."

He further noted, "Opposing the threat and exercise of force that obstructs the territorial integrity and political independence of any country in international relations is a fundamental purpose and principle reflected in the United Nations Charter, as well as its fundamental spirit."

He characterized the current situation in the Middle East as "a necessary product of Israel's unilateral expansion of interests through constant wars and territorial expansion, supported and encouraged by the Western liberal order," and pointed out that the actions of the United States are heightening serious concerns.

He urged that "the international community should raise its voice of condemnation and rejection against the confrontational actions of the United States and Israel."

North Korea and Iran currently maintain a friendly relationship based on the homogeneity of an anti-U.S. alliance. Previously, North Korea has expressed "serious concern and strong condemnation" through a statement from the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson regarding Israel's airstrikes on Iran.
