On the 22nd, China Daily, a state-run English-language media outlet, stated in an urgent commentary that "the unilateral military attack by the United States targeting Iranian nuclear facilities is a reckless escalation of tensions and a clear violation of international law," adding that "direct intervention in the precarious conflict between Israel and Iran infringes upon Iran's sovereignty and violates the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter."

It further emphasized, "Unilateralism weakens the rules-based international order and sets a dangerous precedent that 'might makes right.'"

Additionally, China Daily noted that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has maintained its position that the attack on the nuclear facilities constitutes a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, pointing out that "this attack is likely to derail the entire process aimed at resolving the issue through negotiation."

It also asserted, "The U.S. attack will ultimately only push Israel's situation deeper into the quagmire," and added that "further conflicts can only send shockwaves to the vulnerable global economy by threatening peace and energy security and disrupting key maritime transport routes."
