Twenty Koreans were arrested en masse in Thailand on charges of online fraud and kidnapping.

According to the Bangkok Post on the 22nd, Thai police raided a luxury villa in the Bang Lamung area of Chonburi Province the previous afternoon, rescuing one Korean male victim and arresting 20 Koreans and one Chinese national at the scene.

According to the police, the suspects attempted to flee by jumping from the second floor immediately after the police entry, but all were arrested at the scene. A whiteboard with Korean lines used in online fraud was also discovered at the scene.

Authorities believe that these individuals are members of a criminal organization engaged in romance scams, or fraudulent schemes disguised as relationships. The rescued victim was also identified as having been kidnapped and forcibly forced into crime.

The police stated they would conduct a thorough analysis of the items seized at the scene to confirm whether they were used in the actual crime and would take legal action against the suspects.
