According to the state-run Xinhua News Agency and others, President Xi exchanged opinions with President Putin on the situation in the Middle East during a phone call in the afternoon.

President Putin stated that the attack on Iran's nuclear facilities by Israel is very dangerous and that escalating clashes do not benefit either side, emphasizing that the Iran nuclear issue should be resolved through dialogue and negotiation.

In response, President Xi remarked, "It has once again been proven that the world has entered a new period of turmoil and transformation," and warned that if clashes escalate further, not only the parties involved but also other regional countries will suffer significant damage.

President Xi urged four actions: pushing for a ceasefire, ensuring civilian safety, starting dialogue and negotiation, and efforts by the international community. He added that the conflicting parties, particularly Israel, must quickly cease hostilities to prevent the situation from worsening and to avoid the spread of war.

Meanwhile, the military conflict between the two countries, which began with Israel's preemptive strike against Iran on the 13th, has continued for the 7th day. Israel maintains that this is a measure to preemptively block the potential development of Iran’s nuclear weapons, which could pose a threat to its nation.
