U.S. President Donald Trump warned Iranian citizens on the 16th (local time) to evacuate Tehran immediately.
According to CNN, President Trump posted on his social media (SNS) 'Truth Social' that "everyone should evacuate Tehran immediately." However, he did not disclose specific reasons or background.
In the same post, President Trump claimed that Iran should have signed the nuclear agreement as per his demands, stating, "Iran should have signed the 'agreement' I mentioned. Human lives are precious and lamentable. Simply put, Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons. I have repeated that countless times."
Earlier, the U.S. and Iran were scheduled to resume the sixth nuclear agreement in Oman last Sunday, but the negotiations were canceled due to the repercussions of Israel's large-scale airstrikes.
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced via X (formerly Twitter) that "U.S. military forces have been additionally deployed to the Middle East." He explained, "Protecting U.S. forces is our top priority, and this deployment is a measure to enhance the defensive posture within the Middle East."
CNN reported that in this context, the U.S. aircraft carrier Nimitz (CVN-68) has canceled its originally scheduled port visit and is en route to the Middle East. The Nimitz was set to swap places with the carrier Carl Vinson (CVN-70) stationed in the Middle East, and while the swap itself will proceed as planned, the arrival time has been expedited.
