Sergei Shoigu, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, arrived in Pyongyang, North Korea, on the 17th to carry out a special mission from President Vladimir Putin, local media including Russian Sputnik reported.

According to reports, Secretary Shoigu is scheduled to meet with Kim Jong Un, the Chairperson of the State Affairs Commission, in Pyongyang. This visit to North Korea is said to be in line with the implementation of agreements made during their first meeting on the 4th.

The Russian Security Council stated, "Agreements between Russia and North Korea are being implemented within the framework of the 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement' signed by the two countries."

Russian state-run TASS reported that Secretary Shoigu's visit to North Korea marks the third time in approximately three months.
