One passenger aboard an Air India flight has been confirmed to have miraculously survived.
According to local media, including Hindustan Times, a British national named Vishwashi Kumar Ramesh, 40, was rescued from the crash site near Ahmedabad Airport in the western Indian state of Gujarat on the 12th. He was found clutching his boarding pass and was a passenger in seat 11A of the ill-fated aircraft.
Vishwashi explained to Hindustan Times, "I heard a loud noise 30 seconds after takeoff, and the aircraft fell." He said, "Everything happened very quickly." He was reportedly on his way back to the UK after visiting family in India. Vishwashi recounted, "When I woke up, there were bodies scattered around. It was very frightening," adding, "I got up and ran, but there were debris from the plane everywhere, and someone grabbed me and put me in an ambulance to take me to the hospital."
Vishwashi noted that his brother was also aboard the flight and pleaded, "Please help find him," as reported by Hindustan Times.
Vishwashi is receiving treatment in the hospital for injuries to his chest, eyes, and feet.
