The extreme confrontation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk has entered a phase of resolution with Musk's public apology.

Karoline Leavitt, White House Spokesperson, noted during a briefing on the 11th (local time) that "the president is aware of the statement released by Elon early this morning" and that "he received it positively."

Trump had previously indicated that he would cancel contracts between corporations related to Musk and the federal government during the course of their conflicts.

However, the White House said regarding this measure, "Currently, no actions are underway."

Trump evaluated on the same day during an appearance on the New York Post podcast that "it was very desirable that Musk took such action (apologized)."

He reaffirmed his previous position that he does "not resent" Musk for openly criticizing his core policies, although it was "somewhat disappointing."

When asked about the possibility of restoring relations with Musk, Trump replied, "It seems possible. We need to correct the nation," adding, "My only mission currently is to elevate this country to the highest level in history."

Earlier, Musk wrote on social media platform X that he "has regrets about some posts made regarding the president last week" and stated that "they crossed the line."

Major media outlets like the New York Times (NYT) and CNN reported, citing multiple sources, that Musk had a brief phone conversation with President Trump the evening before posting this message.

Vice President JD Vance and White House Chief of Staff Suzy Wiles are also reported to have intervened by contacting Musk to prevent the situation from worsening. Musk's father, Errol Musk, an asset owner in South Africa, stated in an interview with local media that "Elon, who has been exhausted and stressed over the past five months, made a mistake," adding, "Trump will win (the fight)."

CNN sources said, "At that point, Musk was already in a retreat position," and added, "the president appeared to have calmed down compared to the day before."

After the call with Vice President Vance and others, Musk deleted some of the posts he had previously made on X.

In particular, sensitive content, such as those supporting the impeachment of President Trump and claims linking him to the Jeffrey Epstein sex crime case, has been completely removed.

Afterward, Musk expressed his willingness to reconcile by continuously posting articles supporting the Trump administration's response to protests against illegal immigration.

White House officials are reported to anticipate that the two figures can ultimately restore their relationship.

Musk was appointed as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with the launch of Trump's second administration and actively led federal government reorganizations and budget cuts.

However, as soon as his special government employee term ended, he opposed the tax cut bill, a key policy of the Trump administration.

After President Trump publicly reprimanded Musk, the relationship between the two rapidly cooled, with Musk even raising support for Trump's impeachment and claims for creating a new party.
