Boston Dynamics, a robotics subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, featured its quadruped walking robot "Spot" on NBC's flagship entertainment program "America's Got Talent," showcasing synchronized dance.
On the 12th, according to Hyundai Motor Group and others, the official YouTube channel of America’s Got Talent released a video titled "Boston Dynamics makes history with robot dancing" on the 11th (local time), featuring five Spots, commonly referred to as "robot dogs," dancing together.
The five Spots that took the stage danced to Queen's "Don’t Stop Me Now." The Spots shook their bodies side to side like an idol group, performing a synchronized dance. They also lifted their robotic arms, resembling performers singing in real life.
Shortly after the song began, one Spot stopped moving and collapsed, but that robot resumed normal operation after a Boston Dynamics researcher came on stage, eliciting laughter from the audience.
On that day, the four judges remarked, "I have never seen anything like this," and unanimously gave a "yes," indicating that Spot is expected to perform on the next stage.
