According to Reuters, President Trump noted, "President Xi agreed to restart the supply of rare earth minerals."

Previously, the Trump administration pointed out that China continues to control rare earth exports to the U.S. despite an agreement made in Geneva last month. At that time, the two countries agreed during high-level U.S.-China trade negotiations held in Geneva to significantly lower tariffs by 115 percentage points each for 90 days, and China agreed to lift non-tariff measures implemented in response to the U.S.'s reciprocal tariffs.

President Trump stated that after about 90 minutes of phone conversation with President Xi the previous day, they agreed to resume U.S.-China trade negotiations, and the complexities regarding rare earth issues have been resolved.

Meanwhile, President Trump also revealed that both countries have agreed to hold high-level talks in London on the 9th.
