According to the Korean Central News Agency on the 5th, Kim met with Secretary Shoigu the previous day at the headquarters of the Party Central Committee. This was about 70 days since Secretary Shoigu last visited North Korea in March.

During the meeting, Kim noted that "the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will unconditionally support Russia's position and foreign policy on all serious international political issues, including the Ukraine issue," and stated, "We will faithfully adhere to the treaty provisions between the two countries (North Korea and Russia)."

During the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership to protect common core interests and discussed cooperation measures in various fields.

They also exchanged views and opinions on the international and regional situations, confirming that both sides have completely aligned positions, according to the Korean Central News Agency.

Secretary Shoigu expressed gratitude, saying, "I thank the excellent sons of the Korean people who defended Russian territory during the Kursk Liberation Operation as if it were their own homeland."

Earlier, according to what the Russian Security Council had revealed, both sides discussed the prospects for the recovery of Kursk Oblast and considered concrete measures to commemorate the 'historic actions' of the North Korean military involved in the liberation of Kursk.

Subsequently, the Russian Embassy in North Korea reported that Secretary Shoigu returned to Russia later that day.
