A 20-year-old female influencer from Taiwan, who focused on cosmetic eating broadcasts (food-eating videos), has died. The exact cause of death has not been revealed.
According to the Hong Kong South China Morning Post on the 3rd (local time), a 24-year-old female food-eating influencer from Taiwan, 'Guava Beauty', died on the 24th of last month.
She had been filming and uploading videos where she tasted cosmetics. Recently, she also filmed herself applying blush to her cheeks and lips, then putting it in her mouth and chewing it.
Previously, viewers had expressed concerns about her videos where she ate cosmetics. This is because her videos might lead the audience to believe that consuming cosmetics is safe.
One viewer said, 'Encouraging the consumption of cosmetics should not be allowed.' Another viewer noted, 'Just because you spit out what you've eaten doesn't mean the problem is solved,' adding, 'If someone watches your video, imitates it, and something goes wrong, won't you be responsible?'
Some netizens speculated that her death might have been due to cosmetic poisoning.
Recently, incidents of food-eating stars dying have been occurring one after another. In July of last year, a food-eating star from China suddenly died during a live food-eating broadcast, and in June of last year, a YouTuber in the Philippines with 500,000 followers died of a heart attack the day after filming a food-eating video.
