A U.S. court noted that China urged the complete abolition of "discriminatory tariff imposition" regarding President Donald Trump's reciprocal tariff.
Spokesperson He Yungchen of China’s Ministry of Commerce said at a regular briefing that "the United States has undermined the international economy and trade order, hindered corporate production and consumer spending following its unilateral tariff measures."
Spokesperson He noted, "U.S. tariff measures hurt others without benefiting itself and have faced opposition even within the U.S." He said, "China has consistently argued that there are no winners in a trade war and no exit in protectionism."
Earlier, the U.S. Federal International Trade Court ruled that President Donald Trump's reciprocal tariff imposition policy announced in April exceeded his authority and was unlawfully enacted, declaring it invalid. The court determined that the U.S. Constitution grants taxation authority to Congress, not the President, and this cannot be overturned by the President's emergency powers.
