The production company of the TV series ‘Harry Potter,’ based on the bestselling novel by British author J.K. Rowling, revealed the three child actors selected for the lead roles.
On the 27th (local time), Warner Bros. Discovery noted, ‘The HBO Original ‘Harry Potter’ TV series has cast newcomer Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.’
Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod, co-producers involved in the series production, said, ‘We are thrilled to find our Harry, Hermione, and Ron,’ adding, ‘The talent of these three special actors is truly astounding.’ They further expressed gratitude to the thousands of children who participated in the auditions.
According to Hollywood media Variety, the actors selected this time are mostly newcomers who have had little previous involvement in major works, having been chosen through a competition ratio of about 10,000 to 1.
Filming for the series is set to begin this summer and is expected to be released on HBO’s streaming platform next year.
