Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, attached a map virtually designating all Ukrainian territory as a buffer zone in a Telegram post on the 25th (local time), stating, "If military support for the 'Bandera regime' (a Nazi collaborator in Ukraine during World War II) continues, the buffer zone could appear like this."

A buffer zone refers to an area that can detect enemy attacks early and delay infiltration. The attached map indicated that most of Ukraine, excluding some areas along the western border with Poland, is marked as a buffer zone.

Russia is already in the process of establishing a buffer zone. Earlier, on the 22nd, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, stated at a government meeting, "A decision has been made to create the necessary security buffer zones along the border," adding, "Our military is currently carrying out this task."
