On the 24th (local time), according to BBC broadcasts and others, seven corpses of children with severe burns arrived at the emergency room of Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, where 38-year-old pediatrician Alla Al-Najar works. A 7-month-old baby and a 2-year-old child were trapped under the rubble of a house destroyed by airstrikes.

Al-Najar was at the hospital and had left her children at home. The only surviving son, 11 years old, is also reported to have sustained serious injuries. The Gaza Health Ministry noted that Al-Najar’s husband, who is also a doctor, returned home after finishing his shift only to find their house had been bombed.

Mounir Al-Barshi, Gaza's Minister of Health, wrote on social media (SNS) X (formerly Twitter), "Yahya, Rakan, Raslan, Gebran, Ebe, Raibal, Seydin, Lukman, Sidra, nine of my children have died," and added, "This is the reality that our medical staff in the Gaza Strip must endure."

Al-Najar is reported to have continued working at the hospital even after losing her children. Her husband and their only surviving son are still receiving treatment after undergoing surgery at the hospital. A Gaza Health Ministry official told CNN that they saw Al-Najar standing with a seemingly calm and patient gaze, accepting what is currently happening.

The Gaza Health Ministry stated that at least 74 people have died due to attacks by the Israeli military from noon on the 23rd to noon on the 24th.
