A fan who named his daughter after South Korean national soccer player Son Heung-min is gaining attention. The daughter was born on the day Tottenham Hotspur won the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League title (22nd).
According to the BBC on the 23rd, a Tottenham fan named his daughter 'Angela Madison Heung-min.' This name combines the head coach Son Heung-min's name and the vice-captain James Madison's name after Angela.
The fan shared a photo with the BBC of himself cradling the baby while wearing a Tottenham jersey at Queen Charlotte's Hospital in London. The man proved he is a passionate Tottenham supporter while wearing the team's jersey from the 1994–95 season.
The BBC posted a photo of the newborn with a Tottenham jersey, stating, 'Congratulations on entering the world. We will forever remember the birthday of Angela Madison Heung-min,' and added, 'May Angela be a signal to return to the glorious days of Tottenham.'
On that day, Tottenham claimed victory for the first time in 17 years since winning the League Cup in 2008. Expanding to European competitions, it’s the first time in 41 years since winning the UEFA Cup in 1984. Soccer fans reacted, saying, 'If you link Maddison's son, the name contains son-Heung-min,' and 'If a son had been born, it would have likely included 'SON,' which means Son Heung-min's surname and son.'
