The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, has set a new all-time high for the first time in four months.
According to the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, as of 11:07 a.m. Eastern Time on the 21st, the price of one Bitcoin reached $109,493, an increase of 5.86% compared to 24 hours earlier (approximately 149.99 million won).
This surpasses the previous all-time high of $109,358 recorded on January 21 and marks a new peak after four months. Bitcoin had fallen to the $74,000 range due to global trade concerns since January but began to rise again starting last month.
There are also expectations that Bitcoin could soon break the $110,000 mark for the first time. The U.S. Senate passed a bill on the 19th that strengthens collateral requirements for stablecoin issuance and mandates compliance with anti-money laundering laws. Although it is a regulatory bill, it is seen as effectively recognizing cryptocurrencies as financial instruments.
