Coupang Play announced on the 19th that it would cancel the concert of the famous American rapper Kanye West, scheduled to be held at the Incheon Munhak Stadium on the 31st.
The concert organizer Coupang Play noted, "The 'YE' concert in Korea, which was scheduled for the 31st, has unfortunately been canceled due to the recent controversies surrounding Kanye West."
The sale of Kanye West's brand "Yeezy" merchandise, which was being conducted to commemorate the concert, will also be halted from 1 p.m. on that day.
Coupang Play did not specify what the "recent controversy" was, but it appears to be related to the remarks and actions of Kanye West, who has recently come under scrutiny.
Kanye West has caused several controversies since around 2020 by expressing anti-Semitic views and praising Nazism.
In February of this year, he sparked outrage by posting on X (formerly Twitter) statements such as "I am a Nazi" and "I love Hitler." Additionally, on the 8th, the anniversary of the victory in Europe during World War II, he released a single titled "Hail Hitler."
