The United States and Saudi Arabia have signed a strategic economic partnership agreement.
According to Saudi state television on the 13th, U.S. President Donald Trump met with Saudi Arabia's de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, on the first day of his Middle East tour and signed the strategic economic partnership agreement.
The strategic economic partnership agreement between the two countries centers on mutual cooperation in areas such as energy, defense, and resources, with both nations agreeing to collaborate for the modernization and development of the Saudi military. They also discussed arms transactions.
Additionally, President Trump reportedly told Crown Prince bin Salman, "It is a pleasure to meet you," and exchanged views on diplomatic issues in the Middle East, including the Gaza war ceasefire, Iran nuclear negotiations, and stabilizing oil prices.
Meanwhile, President Trump will visit Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following Saudi Arabia over the next four days, until the 16th. This is his first official overseas tour since taking office in January.
