A South Korean female broadcaster was attacked with racial discrimination during a live broadcast on the streets of France, prompting the French prosecutor to open an investigation.

According to a report by Le Figaro on the 11th (local time), Twitch streamer Jinnity faced verbal abuse from a local resident while broadcasting in downtown Toulouse.

The incident occurred on the 7th. Jinnity is a popular streamer with over 1 million subscribers.

In the streaming footage at the time, Jinnity was introducing the streets of Toulouse when a man riding an electric scooter approached.

This man hurled insults, saying, "What do you want, you filthy whore? Get lost." After that, he slapped Jinnity's phone out of her hand and disappeared.

Taken aback by the sudden attack, Jinnity clarified, "He's crazy. I didn't film him, and this is a public space."

The live-streamed scene quickly spread online. French viewers sent Jinnity messages of apology and support.

In particular, a video later released by Jinnity included a polite apology from a French citizen. The man on the motorcycle bowed several times, saying, "I apologize for the attack on behalf of all French people."

The Toulouse prosecutor, who became aware of this incident, has begun an investigation into the attacking man.

David Charamat, a prosecutor from the Toulouse prosecutor's office, explained in an interview with Le Figaro, "This could be treated as a racially aggravated assault and charges of gender-discriminatory insults."
