Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping adopted a joint statement on the 8th (local time) urging an end to sanctions against North Korea and strong pressure on North Korea.
According to foreign news agencies such as TASS and RIA Novosti, President Putin and President Xi signed a joint statement on 'strengthening comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction in a new era' after their summit at the Kremlin on the same day.
The two leaders emphasized through the joint statement that Russia and China urged each country to abandon sanctions and coercive pressure on North Korea, supporting a resolution of the Korean Peninsula issues only through diplomatic means.
They also emphasized that while both countries support all efforts for peace in Ukraine regarding the Ukraine issue, it is necessary to eliminate the 'root causes' for a long-term resolution of the conflict.
In addition, they pointed out that the deterioration of relations among nuclear powers is increasing the global nuclear threat. They insisted that nuclear powers should abandon Cold War-style behavior and solve problems through dialogue, expressing hope for a constructive role regarding the Iranian nuclear program while calling for stability in the Middle East.
They expressed concerns about the United States' new missile defense system, the Iron Dome.
President Putin assessed that the talks with President Xi were very productive, stating that the relationship between the two countries has reached 'the highest level in history.' He explained that both countries share common or similar approaches to major international issues.
