President Trump noted, "A comprehensive and total agreement with the U.K. will solidify the relationship between the two countries for years to come," and stated, "It is an honor to announce that the U.K. is our 'first' partner thanks to our long history and alliance."
He added, "Many other agreements that are in serious negotiation stages will follow." This is interpreted as indicating that negotiations with major allies and friends are moving toward conclusion.
