According to reports from AFP among others on the 3rd (local time), President Zelensky stated regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin's ceasefire declaration, "It is impossible to discuss the next steps to end the war over 2 to 3 days, so (the ceasefire declaration) is more like a play being staged on their side."

President Zelensky said, "This is not a serious attempt to end the war," asserting, "They will commit killings until the 7th, take a few days to rest comfortably, and then resume attacks starting on the 11th." He then demanded the "unconditional 30-day ceasefire" proposed by the United States.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin unilaterally declared a victory day ceasefire on the 28th of last month. It is for 72 hours, from midnight on the 8th until midnight on the 10th.

In response, Maria Zakharova, Spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, criticized President Zelensky, stating, "It is not a coincidence. It is a typical threat from international terrorists," alleging that Zelensky is threatening foreign leaders who intend to attend Russia's victory day event.
