According to the Associated Press on the 3rd (local time), the Vatican released a video today that included scenes of workers installing heating and flooring in the Sistine Chapel for the conclave.

The video shows Vatican workers aligning the rows of the wooden table where the cardinals will sit to vote, and installing a ramp to allow a cardinal in a wheelchair to move to his seat.

The day before, a chimney was installed on the roof of the Sistine Chapel to emit smoke indicating the outcome of the conclave.

Following the passing of Pope Francis on the 21st of last month, the conclave to elect a new pope will take place in the Sistine Chapel starting on the 7th.

It is expected that 133 cardinals will participate in the conclave. The College of Cardinals will be isolated from the world after conducting a Mass at St. Peter's Basilica on the morning of the 7th, presided over by Chief Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re.

In the afternoon, the first vote will take place in the Sistine Chapel. If no candidate receives more than two-thirds (89 votes), voting will continue twice a day, in the morning and afternoon, until a new pope is elected the following day.

After the voting, the ballots will be burned, and if a new pope has been chosen, white smoke will be released; if not, black smoke will announce the results to the world.
