U.S. President Donald Trump said on the 29th (local time) regarding concerns that prices in the United States would rise due to the tariffs he imposed on China, "China will probably absorb the tariffs." However, e-commerce companies like Temu have already raised their prices in the United States.

In excerpts from a publicly released interview with ABC before the main broadcast that night, President Trump stated, "They have deceived us more than anyone else. That will not happen again."

President Trump remarked about the tariff of up to 145% on China, "They deserve it. It's a good thing," and added, "We have been extorted by every country in the world, and they all laughed at us," stating, "We will not allow that to happen."

When asked whether a difficult economic period would come due to the high tariff policy, he stated, "I don't think so," claiming, "A great time is coming."

Contrary to President Trump's remarks, Chinese e-commerce companies have already begun raising prices in the United States or imposing import fees in response to the tariff policy.

According to major foreign media, since last weekend, import fees higher than the product prices have been applied to Temu's products, resulting in final prices more than double the previous ones. Meanwhile, the prices of beauty and health products from Shein soared by more than 50% in just one day, while household goods, kitchenware, and toys also increased by an average of over 30%. Some items are reported to have more than doubled in price.
