In a meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre at the White House that day, President Trump told reporters, "We are putting a lot of pressure on Russia, and Russia knows this."

In a subsequent lunch meeting, when asked whether he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin takes peace with Ukraine seriously, he said, "Both (Ukraine and Russia) want peace, but they need to come to the (negotiation) table."

He added, "I have my own deadline," and remarked, "After the deadline passes, we will have a very different attitude, but I think there is a high chance I can reach a (ceasefire agreement)." However, he did not specify the exact deadline.

President Trump expressed that he was "not pleased" about Russia supplying Ukraine's capital that day and responded regarding Ukraine's territorial concession proposal, "We will do our best, but they have lost a lot of territory."

About the meeting with the Norwegian Prime Minister, he said, "We talked about trade, and we will certainly get along very well in relation to trade. We will do something."" He refrained from commenting on the possibility of a reciprocal tariff reduction regarding Norway.
