Pope Francis has died.
According to the Associated Press on the 21st (local time), the pope died at 7:35 a.m. on this day, the day after Easter.
Kevin Farrell, Minister of the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, noted, "At 7:35 a.m. this morning, Bishop Francis of Rome returned to the house of the Father," adding, "His entire life was dedicated to serving the Lord and the Church."
Pope Francis was recently hospitalized due to severe pneumonia but had recovered and resumed activities after returning to the Vatican.
