The chicken franchise KFC has actually launched 'fried chicken-flavored toothpaste' to commemorate April Fool's Day, causing a sell-out frenzy.

On the 10th (local time), according to Fox News and others, KFC collaborated with Australian toothpaste manufacturer HiSmile to release a limited edition chicken-flavored toothpaste and an electric toothbrush on April 1st for April Fool's Day.

KFC explained that the chicken-flavored toothpaste was inspired by KFC's 11 secret herbs and spices. KFC stated, "The toothpaste, infused with the flavor of the original chicken, refreshes your mouth and delivers a rich taste."

HiSmile also promoted the product on its website, stating, "This toothpaste tastes as delicious as taking a bite of crispy, hot, juicy KFC original chicken. It perfectly captures the crispy, golden flavor. Enjoy the perfect taste."

Consumers who encountered this news on April Fool's Day did not believe the product was real. KFC then clarified, "This is no joke. Here it is. It's so delicious you’ll want to lick your fingers," and "I promise, you just need to visit the link in the caption."

The prices were $13 for the chicken-flavored toothpaste (about 19,000 won) and $59 for the electric toothbrush (about 86,000 won), available exclusively on HiSmile's official U.S. website. While not cheap, the toothpaste sold out within 48 hours.

Korben Jones, marketing manager at HiSmile, noted, "At first it was an April Fool's joke, but I thought about how it could be turned into reality," adding, "This collaboration that expands KFC's legendary taste into oral hygiene products was an amazing and fun attempt."

HiSmile stated that while no restock schedule has been set, they are considering plans for additional production soon.
