The global audio content is rising. Recently, the U.S. market research firm Grand View Research projected that the global audio streaming market size will grow from $43.7 billion (about 60 trillion won) last year to $115.3 billion (about 158 trillion won) by 2030. The average annual growth rate is expected to reach 17.3%.
In particular, the Asia-Pacific region is analyzed to have an average annual growth rate of 19.2%, making it noted as the fastest-growing key region in the global audio streaming market.
The domestic audio content platform startup Cocoji revealed the rise of audio content in its '2025 Korea-Taiwan Cocoji User Audio Consumption Trend Analysis' announced on the 15th.
According to the audio content listening data collected from over 100,000 devices by Cocoji, the average daily listening time for Korean users is recorded at 86 minutes. Currently, the main users of Cocoji are children aged 0 to 7.
Also, compared to the average listening time of 72 minutes when Cocoji began collecting data in September 2023, it has increased by 14 minutes. Cocoji explained that the consumption of audio content has settled into a daily routine that goes beyond momentary interest and is maintained over the long term.
In fact, content playback surged along with children's waking hours, forming the first peak at 8 a.m., decreasing during school hours, then increasing again along with picking up from school, and maintaining into the evening. After a second peak around 8 p.m., the flow shows the day concluding.
The market Cocoji entered in June last year showed an average daily audio content listening time of 91 minutes. This also reflected the trend of becoming part of everyday routines.
Park Ji-hee, CEO of Cocoji, noted, "A diverse and specialized audio content ecosystem is forming, expanding beyond simple music appreciation and hobbies to include creative stories, reading, education, and more."
Cocoji is an audio content platform startup founded in September 2020 by Park Ji-hee, a co-founder of Yogiyo. It develops and launches children's audio devices and mobile apps that contain various contents, including fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and English education.
