HD Hyundai's mid-sized holding company, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, announced on the 8th that it has signed a contract to build four container carriers for a shipping company in the Oceania region.
The total contract amount is 834.8 billion won, with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and HD Hyundai Samho each planning to build two ships to be delivered sequentially by 2028.
HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering noted that with this order, it has secured a total of 80 ships (valued at $11.11 billion), achieving 61.5% of its annual target.
By type of ship, there are five liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, six LNG bunkering vessels, eight liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, two ethane carriers, 48 container carriers, and 11 tankers.
