S-OIL said on the 6th that it has installed a free vending machine, "Gudoil Cafe," on the sidewalk in front of its headquarters in Gongdeok-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, to help cool down local residents in the heat and operates it year-round.
S-OIL installed the Gudoil Cafe in 2011. It serves as a small resting place that anyone can freely use, including local residents, village bus drivers, delivery drivers, and students on their way to and from school. In summer, it provides cool bottled water, and in winter, it offers warm pumpkin tea and grain tea, along with seasonal beverages, all for free.
Next to the vending machine, there is a small donation box. The donations voluntarily contributed by residents are used through welfare agencies to support welfare projects for low-income families with infants in the Mapo area.
An S-OIL representative said, "The Gudoil Cafe is a small resting place established to practice sharing within the community," adding, "It is even more meaningful as local residents are using the Gudoil Cafe and creating sharing together through the donated funds."
