On the 3rd, Peugeot unveiled the essence of French sensibility and innovation, the 'All New 3008 Smart Hybrid' (hereinafter referred to as All New 3008), which has undergone a complete redesign, at the cultural and artistic performance venue 'Candy Seongsu' located in Seongsu-dong.
Although the 3008 emphasizes its French-inspired exterior design, the points consumers should focus on are rather the interior and price. The interior layout features not only the artistic sense of the next-generation i-Cockpit but also highly functional seats. Remarkably, the pricing has remained the same as it was in 2017 despite the launch of this third-generation model.
The third-generation All New 3008, which is introduced after a complete redesign in 8 years, is an urban C-SUV that combines sophisticated design with smart HYBE technology and is a strategic model aimed at expanding Peugeot's SUV lineup and increasing its presence in the domestic market. Since its global debut in 2008, the 3008 has established itself as a representative SUV, having sold over 1.4 million units based on the second-generation model (P84) as of 2016, and has accounted for about 27% of Peugeot's total accumulated sales in Korea since the launch of the diesel model in 2010, solidifying its role as a core model.
The third-generation All New 3008, which is the first model to apply Stellantis's next-generation electrification platform 'STLA Medium,' encapsulates Peugeot's innovation in design, space, powertrain, and technology, earning market recognition with over 100,000 units contracted within six months of its European launch. Through the All New 3008, which boasts details harmonizing French sensibility and technology, Peugeot aims to cater to the diverse tastes of Korean customers and create a new turning point in the imported C-SUV segment.
▲ The essence of French sensibility…an innovative and beautiful fastback SUV
Peugeot applied the elegant fastback silhouette and roofline introduced through the 408 crossover to the All New 3008, completing the most beautiful fastback SUV through a harmonious design and proportion. Centered around Peugeot's new emblem, the front end boasts a gradient grill that blends seamlessly with the body color and daytime running lights shaped like a lion's claw, emphasizing a forward-looking impression. The horizontal strip elegantly extending to the headlamps above the grill further enhances its presence with the 3008 lettering engraved.
Every trim comes standard with LED headlamps, and the GT trim includes new features such as 'pixel LED headlamps,' which automatically adjust the direction of light according to surrounding traffic while preventing glare to other drivers, as well as '3D LED taillamps,' enhancing both driving convenience and aesthetic quality.
Above all, the 'Floating Spoiler,' which appears to be hovering in the air, alongside the 'Cat’s Ear' located on either end, achieves an exceptional drag coefficient of 0.28 Cd for an SUV while also incorporating Peugeot's unique 'French detail' by concealing the side window sealing, thereby satisfying aesthetics as well.
▲ Innovation in experience…a harmony of design aesthetics and intuitive technology
The All New 3008 features a newly evolved 'Panoramic i-Cockpit®,' maximizing the driver's immersion and usability. The GT trim introduces the first-ever floating '21-inch panoramic curved display' that appears to hover above the dashboard, enhancing futuristic sensibility and visual immersion. The Allure trim is equipped with a 'dual 10-inch panoramic display' that integrates two 10-inch screens into a single panel.
At the bottom of the display, 'virtual i-Toggles' allow for intuitive setup of frequently used functions, complemented by a touch sensor in the compact steering wheel and an integrated gear selector placed next to the steering wheel, providing drivers with a more spacious and intuitive operating environment.
Functionality and practicality have also been significantly enhanced. Designed based on the 'STLA Medium,' which encompasses C and D segments as well as hybrid and pure electric vehicles, the All New 3008 boasts improved space with a larger body (length 4,545mm, width 1,895mm, height 1,650mm, wheelbase 2,730mm). The trunk offers a standard capacity of 588 liters, and with the 40:20:40 partitioning of the rear seats, a maximum of 1,663 liters of ample cargo space can be secured. It also features a total of 34 liters of storage capacity, including 17 storage compartments and an armrest storage compartment that can be cooled with air conditioning. The GT trim also includes a hands-free power trunk feature.
Seats vary by trim, featuring fabric and leather (Allure) or premium black Nappa leather (GT), with the GT trim offering ventilation and massage functions for the front seats, as well as heating functions for the rear seats. An 'adaptive bolster' function has also been newly added to reduce upper body sway during sharp curves. It does not overlook emotional elements like ambient lighting in eight colors and a clean cabin system that filters fine dust.
Basic safety features include a driver attention warning system, lane departure warning system, forward collision warning, rear parking assist system, active safety braking system, and a rear camera. The GT trim adds adaptive cruise control (including stop-and-go), traffic sign recognition system, lane keeping assist system, blind spot collision alert system, and front parking assist system features. The newly installed 360-degree panoramic camera provides excellent visibility and parking convenience even in narrow alleys or busy urban areas; wireless mirroring features (Apple CarPlay/Android Auto) and a mobile wireless charging tray are also provided as standard.
▲ Peugeot's solution for driving pleasure and efficiency! Smart HYBE
The All New 3008 is equipped with a 48V smart HYBE system, enabling electric mode driving for about 50% of the total driving time in urban environments. This system comprises a 1.2L PureTech gasoline engine, a hybrid-exclusive 6-speed dual-clutch (e-DCS6), and a 48V battery, operating in electric mode during start, launch, and low-speed driving through integrated design within the transmission that includes an electric motor. It provides high fuel efficiency and quietness through regenerative braking and acceleration assist functions. Coupled with precise steering response and high-speed stability, it completes Peugeot's unique light and agile driving feel.
The All New 3008 delivers a combined maximum output of 145 horsepower, deriving from the engine's 136 ps and the electric motor's 15.6 kW, with peaks of torque at 23.5 kg·m and 5.2 kg·m respectively. It has a combined fuel efficiency of 14.6 km/L and CO₂ emissions of 110 g/km, having obtained domestic low-emission vehicle certification, and can enjoy various benefits such as reductions in public parking fees and congested traffic tolls.
Official sales of the All New 3008 Smart HYBE will commence on July 11, with prices set at 44,900,000 won for the Allure and 49,900,000 won for the GT. With the application of the special consumption tax reduction benefit that will be effective until the end of December 2025, the Allure can be purchased for 44,251,000 won and the GT for 49,163,000 won.
