Soosan Industries announced on the 1st that it has signed a contract with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (hereinafter KHNP) for a large-scale mechanical equipment maintenance project.
On the same day, Soosan Industries disclosed that it had secured maintenance contracts for the mechanical equipment of the Saemaul Nuclear Power Units 1 and 2 and the Shin-Wolsong Nuclear Power Units 1 and 2 from KHNP. The contract values are 32.9 billion won and 52.4 billion won, respectively, with both contracts scheduled to run from July 1 to June 30, 2027.
Additionally, it secured a new contract for the maintenance of the mechanical equipment for the Saemaul Nuclear Power Units 3 and 4, which is scheduled for completion by the end of next year. The contract value is approximately 8.3 billion won, with the period extending until June 30, 2027.
Combining the contracts for Saemaul Nuclear Power Units 1 and 2, Shin-Wolsong Nuclear Power Units 1 and 2, and Saemaul Nuclear Power Units 3 and 4 results in a total of 93.6 billion won, which is about 29.6% of last year's revenue.
A representative from Soosan Industries noted, “As the share of domestic nuclear power generation is expected to increase to about 35% by 2038, we plan to further expand our nuclear maintenance business through this contract.”
