Yangyang's Hajodae in Gangwon Province will transform into a free cultural space where skateboarding, surfing, and music come together starting July 10. The complex cultural space 'REVERTY' announced on the 27th that it will operate a pop-up store in collaboration with the global footwear brand Crocs for about 90 days from July 10 to September 30.
The pop-up store is designed as a combination of a resort-style showroom, a rooftop photo zone, and music parties, targeting the tastes of the MZ generation with its 'leisure-type complex content.' The first floor of the pop-up store will be decorated as a Crocs showroom showcasing limited edition colored products and collaborative goods, while the second floor rooftop will feature a panoramic view of the East Sea and a neon photo zone. The first 1,000 visitors will receive a limited edition mesh pouch.
Yang Dong-cheol, the representative of REVERTY, explained the brand name, saying, "I combined the skateboarding technique 'revert' with the initial Y of my name," adding, "The name comes from the experience of returning to basics whenever overcoming a slump." He emphasized the philosophy of dreaming of 'freedom' but not losing one's original intention.
The concrete bowl park where REVERTY is located is a facility constructed by technical staff from Grindline, a well-known skate park company in the United States, boasting the highest level of bowl riding environment in Korea. This space, which inherits the skate culture that began in empty swimming pools by surfers in California in the 1970s, is gaining attention as a MECARO for a new play culture where surfing and skating meet.
In addition, diverse nighttime events including weekly DJ performances will be held during the pop-up store period. In early August, the 'WAH' party planned by DJ BOJVCK will take place, followed by a summer party hosted by Jim Beam in mid-August and the REVERTY 6th anniversary event on August 23. The venue has secured the largest dedicated parking space around Hajodae, enhancing accessibility and convenience for visitors.
Yang noted, "I hope this summer becomes a time for skaters, surfers, and travelers to return to their original intentions and enjoy their freedom."
