Gachon University Startup College Gachon Cocone School announced that it held the ’11th GCS THE Forum' on the 27th at Coex in Seoul, targeting startup officials and young entrepreneurs preparing to enter the Asian market.

Before the event, Gachon Cocone School signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Startup Accelerators and Early Stage Investors Association (K-AIA) to collaborate on discovering and nurturing startups and operating entrepreneurship education programs, aiming to revitalize the startup ecosystem.

The forum was held under the theme ‘Expanding into Asia: What Early Startups Need.’ About 100 participants, including entrepreneurs preparing for entry into Asia, startup representatives, aspiring entrepreneurs, supporters from related organizations, and student entrepreneurs attended.

The event began with greetings from Jeon Hwa-sung, the president of the K-AIA, and a presentation on ‘Startup Strategies for Entering Asia through the Case of CNT Tech.’ The former president introduced strategies for entering the Asian market based on CNT Tech’s overseas entry and nurturing cases, emphasizing the importance of localization and expansion based on partnerships through practical support measures, including TIPS operation, open innovation, and participation in global exhibitions.

Following that, case presentations on entry strategies by country continued. Yang Young-jun, the representative of YJ Company, presented execution strategies for continuous growth in the Japanese market. Hwang Byeong-seon, the representative of Bigbang Angels, introduced investment trends of sovereign wealth funds in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar, and the opportunities for startups to enter these markets.

Jang Dae-ik, dean of the Startup College, stated, ‘This forum was organized to provide practical information and networking for entrepreneurs dreaming of entering the Asian market,’ and added, ‘Gachon University will continue to strive to create a startup ecosystem where universities, local communities, and Asian countries can collaborate.’
