Genesis Brand (hereinafter referred to as Genesis) announced on the 26th that it has signed its first official vehicle sponsorship agreement with the PGA (Professional Golfers' Association of America) Tour until 2030. Genesis will engage in various marketing activities with the PGA Tour to enhance its recognition as a global automobile brand.
Firstly, Genesis plans to display its vehicles at various tournaments of the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour Champions, providing a differentiated brand and vehicle experience to players and spectators.
Genesis has secured not only the title of 'official vehicle sponsor' of the PGA Tour but also an expanded role as the 'official mobility sponsor' due to its long-standing collaboration with the PGA Tour and its contributions to the development of golf. Beyond simple vehicle sponsorship, it plans to continue close collaboration with the PGA Tour in the institutional sector of future mobility technologies led by Hyundai Motor Group.
Since starting the 'Genesis Invitational' in 2017 and taking on the title sponsorship of the 'Genesis Scottish Open' from 2022, Genesis has strengthened its trust with the PGA Tour. It has officially sponsored vehicles for the PGA Tour 'Presidents Cup,' a national team competition held every two years, multiple times since 2015, and plans to support vehicles for next year's competition.
Additionally, Genesis has been working to promote the development of professional golf and expand its base both domestically and internationally through sponsorship of major global golf tournaments aside from the PGA Tour.
Notably, it has sponsored the 'Genesis Championship,' the largest tournament in Korea in terms of prize money, co-hosted by the Korea Professional Golfers’ Association (KPGA) and DP World Tour, since 2017. It has also collaborated with 'TMRW Sports,' a technology venture company established by world-class golfers like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, to serve as a founding partner in the innovative screen golf league TGL.
Jose Munoz, CEO of Hyundai Motor, stated, "I am honored to sign the first official vehicle sponsorship agreement between Genesis and the PGA Tour," adding, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to expand Genesis's global influence."
Rick Anderson, chief commercial officer of the PGA Tour, noted, "We appreciate Genesis's continued commitment to golf and are pleased to strengthen our partnership that has lasted for a decade."
