Hyundai Motor has survived in the Green Hell for the 10th year.

The high-performance brand Hyundai N of Hyundai Motor has successfully completed the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring for 10 consecutive years. In particular, leading the way with the Avante N TCR, it achieved victory in the TCR class for five consecutive years.

During the 2025 Nürburgring 24h race (hereinafter referred to as the Nürburgring 24h), held from 21st to 22nd local time in the Nürburgring area of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, Hyundai Motor's Avante N TCR secured 1st and 2nd place in the TCR class.

The Nürburgring 24h, known as the Green Hell, is an automotive racing event held over a 24-hour period on the Nürburgring circuit, regarded as one of the most grueling race tracks in the world, where rankings are determined based on the total number of laps completed. It is a 24-hour endurance race featuring racing vehicles developed based on production cars, in which Hyundai N participated with two Avante N TCRs in the TCR class, competing with front-wheel touring racing vehicles with an engine capacity of less than 2,000 cc, while in the SP3T class, a single Avante N1 Cup car competed with racing vehicles based on production cars with an engine capacity of less than 2,000 cc.

In this year’s Nürburgring 24h, a total of three vehicles from Hyundai N participated, of which two successfully completed the race. The Avante N TCR competed in the TCR class, achieving the remarkable record of finishing the Nürburgring 24h for the 10th consecutive year.

The Avante N TCR not only achieved victory in the TCR class for five consecutive years but also recorded an overall ranking of 22nd, once again proving its excellent durability and driving performance. The Avante N1 Cup car, which made its debut in the Nürburgring 24h, retired during the race after being rear-ended by another racing vehicle approximately 18 hours into the 24-hour competition.

The performance of the drivers paired with Hyundai N's racing vehicles also garnered attention. In the TCR class, 'Team Europe' (car 830), composed of Manuel Lauck, Marc Basseng, and Christer Joens, won the championship, while 'Team Americas' (car 831), featuring Michael Lewis, Mason Filippi, Bryson Morris, and Robert Wickens, secured second place.

Robert Wickens of Team Americas, despite being a disabled driver diagnosed with lower body paralysis, earned significant attention by completing the Nürburgring 24h using a hand control system.

In the SP3T class, where the Avante N1 Cup car (car 303) competed, the 'Hyundai N Cup Team', consisting of four drivers from three countries (Korea's Kim Kyumin and Kim Youngchan, China's Zhang Zhen Dong, and America's Jeff Ricca), participated. Among them, Kim Youngchan, who was selected as a 'Hyundai Junior Driver' last year due to his performance in the Hyundai N Festival, earned the qualification to participate in this year's Nürburgring 24h, showcasing potential for growth beyond the domestic stage.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor operated a booth alongside Toyota at this year's Nürburgring 24h, conveying each company's passion for automobiles to global customers through motorsports beyond competition. Hyundai Motor and Toyota, after jointly holding the Hyundai N x TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Festival at Yongin Speedway last October, continue their partnership by attending and watching the final round of the 2024 WRC in Japan together.

Park Junwoo, head of Hyundai Motor's N Management Division, noted, "I am pleased that Hyundai N successfully completed the Nürburgring 24h endurance race for 10 consecutive years while proving its excellent durability and driving performance by winning the TCR class for five consecutive years." He added, "In the future, Hyundai N will continue to accumulate high-performance technology and work on product development through various activities, including motorsports, at the Nürburgring, which is known as a famously harsh circuit worldwide, to present customers with even better-performing Hyundai N vehicles and provide the joy of driving."
