He emphasized, "This acquisition is a crucial step in establishing a vertically integrated approach to engine leasing and asset management," adding, "By integrating our own MRO capabilities, we can provide comprehensive and cost-effective solutions throughout the engine lifecycle."

He also added, "Through this acquisition, we will complement Hanwha's existing aerospace manufacturing capabilities and provide end-to-end value to our customers."

However, Hanwha Aviation did not disclose the name or size of the acquired corporation, nor the acquisition price.

The acquired MRO facility can repair and inspect various aircraft engines, including the CFM56 engine mounted on the Boeing 737. It is also certified by both the U.S. FAA and the European EASA.

Hanwha Aviation is a specialized aircraft leasing subsidiary established in April last year with an investment of 54 billion won from Hanwha Aerospace. Hanwha Aviation plans to unveil a new name and brand identity for the recently acquired facility soon.
