On the 19th, the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Commissioner held the 'Mercedes-Benz All Together' fund delivery ceremony and provided a total of 250 million won in educational support funds to 34 child and youth welfare organizations nationwide.
This fund delivery ceremony for 'Mercedes-Benz All Together' was held at the Mercedes-Benz Korea headquarters with the attendance of Chairman Matthias Weitl of the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Commissioner, Commissioner Lee Eun-jung, and executive director Kim Hyo-seung of the social welfare corporation Children's Future Foundation, along with representatives from two beneficiary organizations.
The 'Mercedes-Benz All Together' educational support program is an employee-involved social contribution activity program where employees of Mercedes-Benz Korea, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Korea, and 11 official dealers directly recommend and sponsor child and youth welfare organizations that need financial support for education in local communities.
The beneficiary organizations selected this year through employee recommendations include 34 welfare organizations in eight provinces, such as 'Yongsan Happiness Disabled Independent Living Center' in Seoul, 'Hope Tree Child Center' in Anyang, and 'Kyungdongwon' in Suwon. The funds provided will be used for the maintenance of educational facilities and educational expense support for children and youth.
Chairman Matthias Weitl of the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Commissioner said, "I sincerely hope that children and youth can overcome cultural, economic, and educational gaps through better educational opportunities and envision a precious future," and noted, "We will continue to engage with the community through active participation of employees in the Mercedes-Benz network and various support projects."
Among the beneficiary organizations, 'Yongsan Happiness Disabled Independent Living Center' plans to use this fund for supporting cultural and artistic education program costs for children with developmental disabilities. Center Director Shin Sun-ok, who attended the fund delivery ceremony, said, "Art experiential education for children with developmental disabilities is not just a hobby, but a precious opportunity to build self-esteem and communicate with the world," and added, "I will do my best to add colors of hope to the hearts of the children through this program."
Additionally, 'Hope Tree Child Center' plans to use the fund for the installation of fire safety equipment within the center to create a safe educational environment for children. Center Director Seol Mi-gyeong, who attended the fund delivery ceremony, said, "With this educational fund support, we have been able to establish fire safety infrastructure at the center, allowing children to receive education in a safer environment," and requested, "I ask for continuous interest and support so that children can grow up healthily."
Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Commissioner has provided a total of 4.75 billion won in educational support funds to 884 welfare organizations nationwide through 'Mercedes-Benz All Together' since 2014. In addition, it has donated a total of 74 vehicles since 2016 to improve the mobility convenience of welfare organizations such as facilities for severely disabled individuals and child-rearing facilities.
