On the 19th, YJ Link, a specialized smart factory company focused on surface mount technology (SMT), announced that it has signed a supply contract for a full SMT line for vehicles.
The contract partner is Company K, a first-tier supplier of Hyundai Motor Company, with a supply amount of approximately 2.6 billion won. Under this contract, YJ Link will establish a full SMT line, including front-end and back-end processes, at Company K in Daegu. The duration is until July 31.
A representative of YJ Link noted, "This supply goes beyond just equipment delivery and marks the first case of a commercial sale of an entire full line that includes both front-end and back-end SMT processes," adding that "this signifies that YJ Link is trusted by global clients in terms of technological capability and integrated process solutions."
Surface mount technology (SMT) is a key process for making electronic products small and precise by directly attaching electronic components to substrates.
In particular, the company explained that this contract is not merely limited to the first supply. Company K plans to transition to its own printed circuit board (PCB) production system based on the full SMT line provided by YJ Link. Furthermore, Company K plans to introduce the same SMT full line and equipment at its local factory in Mexico by 2027.
An official from YJ Link stated, "The client is proceeding with the introduction of a factory in Mexico following a strategic decision to transition its production system beyond just equipment purchases," adding, "Starting with this contract, YJ Link will accelerate its efforts to target the global automotive market."
